Overview

Located just 40 minutes north of Cairns and 25 minutes south of Port Douglas, a visit to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure is a must for all visitors!

Get up close to crocodiles and a range of Australian native wildlife in this award winning tourism attraction. Visit a working crocodile farm, cruise the lagoon and see The Best Crocodile Show in Australia!

Discover the beauty of the tropics as you walk along 2100 metres of boardwalk through woodlands and rainforests. See two species of crocodiles; the Estuarine (saltie) and the Freshwater and a whole range of other animals including lizards, turtles, and brightly coloured birds! Plus, no wildlife park would be complete without everyone’s favourite koalas – make sure you stop by the 4:30pm feeding and share the excitement!

Learn more about the evolution of Australia’s wildlife and why Australian native animals are so unique and different at Gondwana Gateway. Get up close to the amazing Cassowary on the Cassowary Walk and learn about it’s important relationship with the rainforest.

Take a tour of the crocodile farm and learn about how the commercial farming of crocodiles for their skin and meat contributes to wildlife and habitat conservation.

Embark on Hartley’s Lagoon Cruise (included) – an experience not to be missed! Learn more about crocodile’s behaviour and habitats with full commentary provided as you cruise across the lagoon. Nineteen crocodiles (ranging from 2.5 metres to 5 metres) call the lagoon home. Observe them lazing on the bank, building their nests or jumping from the lagoon!

Enjoy a range of daily presentations and tours throughout the day. Make sure you leave time to see "The Best Crocodile Show in Australia". You’ll be on the edge of your seat as a professional, experienced zookeeper gets into the water with a crocodile!
